“Perfect….”

Casa Del Mar has an ideal layout, there’s lots of space to accommodate large parties and the courtyard makes it possible for guests in each wing to share a common area without compromising privacy. No other properties on Exuma offer this type of luxury. I know, because we explored every inch of the island! What you lose in amenities offered at some of the all inclusive resorts, you more than make up for with luxury, privacy, and style. The option to either utilize both or one wings is a huge plus, and was a selling point for my husband and I during our stay from Oct 10-18. While the space was certainly more than we needed, we chose Casa Del Mar primarily for the luxury and privacy it offered. We were not disappointed! We spent the majority of our time on the second story, where the views of the ocean are simply stunning. We worried the house would be too far from the beach to hear the sounds of the ocean, but it wasn’t! You are truly steps from the beach, which was empty 99.9% of the time. Snorkeling is a MUST! Half Moon Cay, Eluethra, Marsh Harbour, Aruba simply cannot compete with the reefs in Exuma’s Elizabeth Harbour.
There were a few technical issues with Casa Del Mar. It didn’t greatly affect with the overall impression our stay but made things a little less convenient. The TVs in both wings are internet based (Apple TV and Netflix), which is a problem if the internet goes out (it did). We didn’t spend a great deal of time watching TV (how could you with the views in Exuma?!), but we had a limited options until the internet was restored a couple days later. The ice makers in both wings stopped working, and we were informed at the end of our stay there was a switch under the sink that should have been turned on (we were not aware of this beforehand). Lastly, it looks like a new expansion of this property (currently in construction) will significantly undermine the privacy of the courtyard for the original house. Hopefully the property owners can devise some type of privacy wall or clever landscaping to prevent this from happening — The seclusion and privacy was the primary reason my husband and I chose this location.
Get to know the caretakers, taxi drivers, and property managers, they will bend over backwards to make sure your stay is as pleasant and smooth as possible! Their response time and commitment to service is unparalleled.
